If you are serious about wanting to direct, follow @NicolasLopez He not only shot his last two features on the Canon 5D & 7D cameras, he blew his last feature FUCK MY LIFE up to 35mm and released it in theaters. (He’s in post on the sequel, FUCK MY WEDDING).  I’ve seen FML after the transfer, it looks amazing, I was shocked at how filmic it looked.  Nicolas, like many others, are pioneering new ways of shooting movies with SLR cameras, and testing the limits of what motion can be shot, how to light, and how it looks after you transfer to 35mm negative. This is the type of camera I dreamed of as a kid - one you can hold in your hand, take anywhere, and shoot a movie to have it look like film.  It’s new technology and they are constantly working out glitches, because this was all kind of discovered by accident when Canon added the 24p video feature to the camera. Here’s Nicolas showing me the rig he built to shoot with when I went to Chile last December.

  5. “Content wise it is safe to say that one would be hard pressed to find another film like Waldo the Dog.”
    Michael Den Boer - 10K BULLETS http://10kbullets.com/reviews/w/waldo-the-dog/

“A very unusual film that alternates between drama and comedy, romance and thriller, all blended with a few grotesque undercurrents, and all shot guerilla style with a skeletal crew and a minimal cast. The outcome is as unusual as it is fascinating…”
Michael Haberfelner - SEARCH MY TRASH http://www.searchmytrash.com/movies/waldothedog(2010).shtml

“This is the kind of film that quickly gains a cult following and for good reason, the script is cleverly written, the cast is fantastic and the film pulls you into Waldo’s messed up world and doesn’t let you go till the bitter end..a must-see, a must-own!!”
Patrick Ricketts - VIDEO VIEWS http://www.videoviews.org/waldothedog.html

“Waldo the Dog is a breakout debut if ever there was one and shows a tremendous young filmmaker who isn’t afraid to tackle difficult material and take some very risky chances along the way.”
